Firstly, foil 1/2(3 - x): [tex] 3+1.5-0.5x<-7 [/tex]

Next, combine like terms: [tex] 4.5-0.5x<-7 [/tex]

Next, subtract 4.5 on both sides of the equation: [tex] -0.5x<-11.5 [/tex]

Next, divide both sides by -0.5, and since you are dividing by a negative, flip the sign as well and your answer will be [tex] x>23 [/tex]
