The Pope is the supreme leader of the Catholic church. He is a priest who has served The Church for many, many years and has been promoted to higher and higher offices. A Bishop is a much lower office in the Catholic Church. A Bishop is a regional leader who reports to a conference of other Bishops in the same country. An ArchBishop is a higher office.
