Chose points I chose 2 as y2 and -2 as y2

4 is x2 and 0 as x1

[tex] \frac{2 - ( - 2)}{4 - 0} = \frac{4}{4} = 1[/tex]

Slope is 1

now choose a point and plug it in for x and y and plug slope in Equation

[tex]y = mx + b[/tex]

I chose (4,2)

[tex]2 = 1(4) + b[/tex]

2=4+b

subtract 4 by both sides

-2=b

Slope Form

[tex]y = mx + b[/tex]

So... y=x-2 is the answer
