Solve the following system of equations;

[tex]\begin{gathered} 2y=4x+12---(1) \\ y=2x-6---(2) \\ \text{From equation (2) substitute for y=2x-6 into equation (1) } \\ 2(2x-6)=4x+12 \\ 4x-12=4x+12 \\ \text{Collect all like terms} \\ 4x-4x=12+12 \\ 0=24 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The answer is 0 = 24, which is not possible.

Hence, the system of equations has NO SOLUTION
