Non- Conductive in its solid state, but when dissolved in water it becomes a conductor.

The answer is ionic bonds.

The reason why aqueous solution of sodium chloride conducts electricity is because sodium chloride forms sodium ions (Na +) and chloride ions (Cl -) which are charged particles. The movement of the ions is a flow of electrical particles which is what electricity is.
