A fern grows sporangia under its fronds. What is the next step in its life cycle?

Once the spores are "ready" they get released from the fronds, where they travel using natural sources (water, wind, etc.) to other areas where they may be able to act as seeds do. They eventually grow into ferns themselves if they fall into areas where the conditions are just right for their growth.
