PLLLLLLLLLLLLEASSEE HELEPPPL how would you expect waves to change over time when wind blows over a part of the ocean for a long time

I would expect the waves to change course, maybe the rough wind would actually blow the waves into a different direction and also the wind could carry particles of water to create erosion
