There are 6 sides of a standard dice/dye. 1/6 of the sides are a 5 (there's only one 5). The other chances (rolling a number other than 5) are 5/6 (there's 1/6 chance for 5, and a 6/6 chance you will roll any number including 5).

6/6 (chances for rolling any number including 5) - 1/6 (the chance of rolling a 5) = 5/6 (the chance of rolling a number other than 5.

This is also an 83.33..% chance of rolling any number other than 5.
