Explanation:

I honestly think that this isn't true because the use for the Cochineal was more used for artists and to get a really fine red so I don't think they used it as dye but I maybe wrong but also I think even being able to manufacture the paint it self was very expensive and would not be enough to be used as dye for a fine cloth, but hey maybe it is.
