let (x1,y1)=(1,4)and (x2,y2)=(−2,6)
m = 6−4/-2−1 = 2/-s3 = 2/3
y=−2/3x + b ←is the partial equation
to find b substitute either of the 2 given points into the partial equation
using
(1,4)then

4 = −2/3+ b ⇒ b = 12/3 + 2/ 3= 14/3
⇒ y = −2/3x + 14/3 is the equation of line
