we know,

potential energy = mgh

where,

  • m = mass = 0.5 kg
  • g = acc due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²
  • h = height = 0.8 m (80 cm)

So,

[tex]p.e = 0.5 \times 9.8 \times 0.8[/tex]

=》

[tex]p.e = 3.92 \: \: joules[/tex]
