If it's to kill a mockingbird then this happened at the end:

Atticus thinks that Boo Radley killed Ewell, and you find that Tate is trying to protect Boo. Then they all argue and finally come to the decision that Ewell fell on his own knife. Boo sees Jem for the last time and gets a ride home from Scout.
