As the given lines are

[tex]\begin{gathered} 7x=7-2y \\ 2x+y=5 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The value of y from equation 2 is:

[tex]\begin{gathered} 2x+y=5 \\ y=5-2x \end{gathered}[/tex]

Put this value of y in equation 1:

[tex]\begin{gathered} 7x=7-2y \\ 7x=7-2(5-2x) \\ 7x=7-10+4x \\ 7x-4x=7-10 \\ 3x=-3 \\ x=-1 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Now put this value of x in equation y=5-2x:

[tex]\begin{gathered} y=5-2x \\ y=5-2(-1) \\ y=5+2 \\ y=7 \end{gathered}[/tex]

So the values are

x=-1 and y=7
