Given the following expression:

[tex]2y(x-4)[/tex]

And knowing that the value of "x" is:

[tex]x=6[/tex]

And the value of "y" is:

[tex]y=9[/tex]

You can substitute those values into the expression, as following:

[tex]2y(x-4)=2(9)(6-4)[/tex]

In order to evaluate it, you need to folow these steps:

- Solve the subraction inside the parentheses.

[tex]=2(9)(2)[/tex]

- Finally, find the product solving the multiplication (remember that the Product is the result of a multiplication).

Then, you get that the answer is:

[tex]=36[/tex]
