1) Solving for y, the following expression

6y -4 = 3y +2 Add 4 to both sides

6y = 3y +2+4

6y = 3y +6 Subtract 3y from both sides

6y -3y = 6

3y = 6 Divide both sides by 3

y= 2

S={2}

2) So the solution for this is y=2
